Най-накрая приключих 11-ти сезон.
Доста е добър, пълноценно продължение на традицията. Новите хора се вписват перфектно в духа на сериала, а r добавят нещо от себе си. В употреба влизат някои стари лафове, като "And watch out for snakes!", но само като напомняне и фенсървис, повечето смешки са нови.
Броят шеги на минута е доста по-голям в сравнение със старите сезони, което показва че авторите са се съобразили с новите вкусове и очаквания на публиката.
В декорите и визуалната опаковка на шоуто хем има нещо от евтинията и импровизацията на оригинала, хем изглежда подозрително добре в HD. Явно с годините артистите са се научили да влагат по-добре жълтите стотинки във визия.
Може да се каже, че съм фен и на решението сега роботите да се ръководят от истински кукловоди, вместо да се налага комиците да са ренесансови личности, като Трейс Болию.
Съгласен съм, че това беше част от чара на MST3K, но наистина е трудно да се произведат толкова много сезони, разчитайки на таланта на едни и същи хора.
Всички актьори играят страхотно - Йона, роботите, Фелиша, Патън и дори оркестъра от скелети. Последният е малко излишен и може би най-странното нововъведение, но и не пречи, а само добавя към идиотската атмосфера.
Гостите - Уил Уитън, Елиот Калан, Нийл Патрик Харис (дует с Фелиша!), Джери Зайнфeлд, Марк Хамил (уж в не-Джокер роля, но накрая вкара неговия смях) и Джоел МакХайл се вписаха перфектно.
Старите муцуни - Мери Джо Пийл, Бил Корбет, Кевин Мърфи, Пол Чаплин и естествено Джоуел Ходжсън също бяха на място.
Какво не харесах - Carnival Magic и The Christmas That Almost Wasn't (оказва се, че не харесвам нито един MST3K коледен филм). Те дори и с шегичките са трудни за гледане.
Най-добрите riff-ове - Reptilicus, Avalanche (сигурно най-unintentional смешния катастрофичен филм на всички времена...дори няма нужда от riffing), Yongary: Monster from the Deep, Wizards of the Lost Kingdom и At the Earth's Core.
В заключение, един от най-успешните kickstarter проекти абсолютно си струва парите, а и понякога носталгията е нещо хубаво.

Докато съм дремал някъде, Mystery Science Theater 3000 са провели още една кикстартер кампания с 2 милиона долара събрани още първите два дни и общо 6.5 милиона, което щяло да им стигне за 13 нови епизода + 2 празнични спешъла.
Този път няма да са по Нетфликс, а по тяхна собствена платформа Gizmoplex.
В състава са пак Ray, Vaughn, Yount, Hanson, Day и Oswalt. Emily Marsh ще е новият водещ. Hodgson, Pehl и Weinstein ще се появят в старите си роли от сериала.

С последното имаме и нов каст: нов тестов субект (изпълнен от Емили Марш) и нови гласове за симулационните версии на Кроу и Том Сърво (не проверих за ДжПиСи).
Като цяло продукцията е малко по-мизерна от нетфликс ерата, което и се очакваше, но рифовете пак са си яки. Трябваше ми известно време да свикна с новия "субект" и Кроу (предполагам и на тях им е трябвало известно време), но двете са страхотни актриси и се сработват добре с шегичките. Напоследък наваксах три епизода от новия сезон. Всъщност не продължават рифовете само с новия екип, а правят ротация с предишния.
Дори J. Elvis Weinstein и Joel Hodgson гостуваха за риф. Надявам се да направят нещо подобно с Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy и Bill Corbett.
